Our annealing kilns are built for glass artists who need precise temperature control through every soak and ramp — because a rushed cool-down is a cracked piece. We carry annealing-ready kilns from Olympic, Jen-Ken, Aim, Hot-Shot, and Evenheat, with the controllers and chamber sizes that match how you actually work — whether you're cooling fused panels, blown vessels, or lampworked beads, from 120V bench units to 240V floor models.

Key Advantages

  • Precision heat, honest soaks — every model has a programmable controller built for the long, slow holds annealing demands, with no guesswork at the strain point.
  • Bench to floor — compact 120V annealers for the lampwork torch, up to 240V floor models for larger fused and blown work.
  • Drop-in workflows — dedicated annealing cabinets let you set hot work straight in and run the cool-down.
  • Quick-ship options — select annealers ship fast, so you can pull a piece off the torch this week.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is annealing necessary?
As hot glass cools, the outside hardens before the inside, locking in internal stress. Annealing holds the glass at its annealing point and then cools it slowly and evenly so that stress is released. Skip it or rush it and the piece can crack — sometimes days later. It's essential for lampwork, blown, fused, and cast glass.
Do I need a separate annealer for lampwork?
For active lampworking, a dedicated bead annealer (or a kiln with a bead door) lets you garage beads as you make them and run a proper cool-down at the end of the session. It's the standard setup — making beads without annealing leads to cracking.
Can my fusing kiln anneal too?
Yes — most glass fusing kilns include an anneal segment in the firing schedule, so the same kiln fuses and anneals flat work. A separate annealer is mainly for lampwork and hot-shop workflows where you're putting hot pieces in throughout a session.
What size annealer do I need?
It depends on what you make and how much at once — a small bench unit handles beads, while panels and vessels need a larger chamber. Tell us your typical work and power available, and we'll size it. See our Electrical & Power guide too.

A rushed cool-down is a cracked piece — annealing is where it's saved.
