In-House Heat Treating, Without the Outsourcing Hassle
If you've been outsourcing heat treat — dealing with minimum batch sizes, shipping turnaround, and zero control over timing — the Hot Shot 1200 puts that process back under your roof. With 1,200 cubic inches of chamber space and a 240V / 20A setup, it handles serious production volume without breaking a sweat. The Spark controller gives you programmable ramp-and-soak control so every batch is repeatable to the degree.
Every Hot Shot oven is built in West Bend, Wisconsin and ships with the brand's patent-pending Cool-to-Touch Technology — the exterior stays safe to handle even at full temperature, thanks to a fan-cooled stainless steel core inside a powder-coated shell. Kanthal A1 heating elements, a Type K thermocouple, and a solid-state relay come standard.
Included with every order
Full operator manual, a 3 year limited warranty through Hot Shot, and free freight shipping to the US Lower 48.
You'll pick your digital controller at checkout:
- TAP&Go — the simplest option. Tap your desired temperature on the controller and it manages the firing automatically. Set-point only, not ramp/hold programmable.
- TAP2 — full-color touchscreen with unlimited program storage, built-in Wi-Fi, and a free mobile app for monitoring and notifications.
- Bartlett Genesis Spark — touchscreen with industry presets, 30 custom programs, Wi-Fi for software updates and remote monitoring via the Bartlett Kiln Aid app.
✅ Best for: Production bladesmiths and machinists who heat treat regularly and want to stop outsourcing. Ideal if you have 240V available and are processing medium to large batches of blades or parts. Also great for shops handling multiple steel types that need precise, programmable cycles.
❌ Not ideal for: Hobbyists or occasional makers who only heat treat a few blades a month — the Hot Shot 360 is a better fit at that volume. Also not the right choice if you only have 120V service.
