Can a small glass kiln anneal lampwork beads?
Annealing is essential for lampwork — without a controlled cool-down, beads crack from internal stress. A dedicated annealing cabinet lets you drop hot work in and run a proper cool-down cycle. Some compact glass kilns can also batch-anneal; tell us your workflow and we'll point you to the right one.
What is a vitrigraph kiln?
A vitrigraph kiln has an opening in the floor; you load glass in a pot or stack, heat it until it flows, and pull stringers and threads straight from the kiln for use in fusing and detail work. A powered lift makes the pull smooth and consistent.
Do I need a separate kiln for enameling?
Not strictly, but a compact, fast-cycling enameling kiln is convenient for small metal pieces and quick firings. It heats fast and lets you fire frequently without waiting on a large chamber.
