I started ProKilnSupply because buying a kiln shouldn't feel like decoding a manual.
The first time I tried to buy one, I had a stack of browser tabs open — manufacturer PDFs full of acronyms, retailer sites that all looked the same, voltage charts, cone numbers, shipping quotes that didn't include the part where the kiln arrives on a pallet at the end of your driveway. Nobody was talking to me like a person. Every page assumed I already knew what a "Type K thermocouple" was or whether my house could handle a 60-amp draw.
So I built the store I wished I'd had.
ProKilnSupply is an online kiln retailer based in Provo, Utah — with plans to open a brick-and-mortar location down the road as we grow. I'm an authorized distributor for Olympic Kilns (verified on Olympic's official distributor list), and I also carry Jen-Ken, Evenheat, HotShot, Cress, and Speedball. That's the whole catalog — kilns, ovens, and a few pottery wheels. No clay, no glaze, no glitter. Just the equipment, sold by someone who'll actually pick up the phone.
Every kiln ships factory-direct from the manufacturer to your door. Brand new, never sat in a back room, and on its way to you faster than going through a middleman warehouse.
I work with potters, glass fusers, bladesmiths heat-treating knives, jewelers firing metal clay, schools, and people setting up their first home studio.
You can talk to me directly. Call (801) 839-5882 and you'll get me, not a call center. If I don't pick up, I'll call you back the same day. I'd rather spend 20 minutes on the phone helping you choose the right kiln than have you order the wrong one.
I'll tell you when not to buy. If a kiln is wrong for your space, your power, or your goals, I'll say so — even if it costs me the sale. The cheapest kiln I can sell you is the one you don't have to return.
Free freight to the lower 48, and no sales tax outside Utah. Real savings, not a banner that disappears at checkout.
Price-beat guarantee. If you find a lower advertised price from another authorized dealer, send it over and we'll beat it.
Financing available. Most of what I sell is a real investment. Spreading it out is often the difference between buying now and waiting another year.
ProKilnSupply runs lean by design. Online-first means no retail overhead getting baked into your price, no sales floor pressure, and factory-direct shipping straight to your door. When you email or call, you're talking to the person who actually runs the business and wants you to come back when it's time for new elements or your second kiln.
We're growing, and a brick-and-mortar location is on the roadmap as we get there — somewhere people can come see kilns in person, take a class, talk shop. Until then, the best of what a good local kiln shop offers (real human help, honest answers, fair prices) is a phone call away.
If you'd rather buy from a 50-year-old pottery institution with a showroom, that's a totally legitimate choice and there are great ones out there. If you want straight answers, fair prices, and someone who'll remember your name — that's me.
