Chamber
8"" × 8"" × 6.75""
Power
120V / 15A

3 Years

If you want to fire serious work but your studio only has standard household power, the Cress GK1 was built for exactly your situation. It plugs into any standard 120V outlet — no electrician, no panel upgrade, no dedicated circuit. Just plug it in and fire.

The Cress GK1 is part of Cress's GK Series — a multi-tasking kiln line built for artists who work across techniques. Glass fusing, slumping, raking, vitrigraph, enameling, low-fire ceramics, even Raku — the GK handles it all with quick temperature recovery and durable firebrick construction.

The 8" W x 8" L x 6.75" D chamber gives you of capacity (0.25 cubic feet) room to fuse, slump, batch jewelry projects, or fire small ceramic loads.

It reaches 2000°F, which is enough for glass fusing, slumping, raking, vitrigraph, enameling, low-fire ceramics, and even Raku — Cress designed this series to handle virtually anything under 2000°F.

The GK1 plugs into a standard 120V household outlet. Total draw is 1,700 watts at 15 amps.

Included with every order

full operator manual, a 3 year limited warranty through Cress, and free freight shipping to the US Lower 48.

You'll pick your digital controller at checkout. Cress kilns are designed around Bartlett-built controllers (Cress is part of the Bartlett family). Most buyers choose the Prodigy Touchscreen Smart Controller — a full-color touchscreen with intuitive ramp-and-hold programming, real-time monitoring, custom firing profile storage, and built-in safety diagnostics with over-temperature alerts and data logging. Not sure which controller fits your workflow? That's exactly the kind of thing we help with.

A note on lead time: Cress kilns are made-to-order at their facility in Carson City, Nevada, with current lead times running roughly 8-12 weeks. Give us a call before ordering and we'll confirm current production estimates.

Not sure if this is the right kiln for you?

Give us a call. We'll talk through your space, your power setup, and what you're firing, and help you land on the right setup.
