A 16" Square All-Fiber Fusing Kiln That Plugs Into a Standard Outlet. Fast Firings, Easy Loading.
The AF3P ProFusion 16 is built around three good ideas working together: an all-fiber chamber for speed, a 16" square clamshell design for easy loading, and 120V plug-in operation so you can run it on a standard household outlet. With a 16" L x 16" W x 5" D interior and 0.88 cubic feet of working space, it handles plates, tiles, panels, and other square-format fusing work that wastes space in a rectangular kiln.
Because the chamber is made from fiber instead of fire brick, most of the heat goes straight into your glass rather than being absorbed by the kiln walls. That means the ProFusion 16 reaches its 1700°F max temperature in about 1.5 hours, with equally quick cooldowns. The composition lets you run multiple firings in a single day, which is genuinely useful for production fusing and glass painting work.
The clamshell lid opens the entire top of the kiln, so you can assemble pieces directly on the kiln surface without fighting clearance, which is the kind of small workflow improvement you notice every single firing. And there's no separate shelf to buy, since this kiln is designed to fire directly on the fiber floor. If you want a different fire surface, fiber paper or Kaiser Lee board works well. Avoid a clay shelf on posts here, since it would reduce your usable depth and slow down the very speed you're paying for.
It ships standard with the Orton AF3P 3-button digital controller, simple to program and reliable to run. Upgrade at checkout to the Orton AutoFire 12-Key or the TAP Smart Touchscreen with Wi-Fi for more storage and remote control.

Who Is This Kiln For?
The ProFusion 16 is built for fusers who want speed, easy loading, and standard-outlet power. Here's how to tell if that's you.
✓ Artists working on square or near-square pieces
16" x 16" is a good footprint for plates, tiles, panels, and square platters. No wasted corners and no compromise on layout.
✓ Production fusers who fire often
All-fiber construction, 1.5-hour ramp to max temperature, and quick cooldowns mean you can run several firings a day. Faster than any brick-built kiln of similar size.
✓ Fusers ready for their first real kiln
120V plug-in operation means no electrician, no panel upgrade, no waiting. The clamshell design and integrated fiber floor make it easy to learn on, with no separate shelf to fuss with.
✓ Established studios that need a fast second kiln
If you have a larger production kiln but want a quick one for small work, testing schedules, or knocking out single pieces, the ProFusion 16 turns around firings while your big kiln is still cooling.
For a kiln you'll fire often, the Solid State Relay (SSR) is a worthwhile upgrade. It gives you tighter temperature control, longer element life, and quieter cycling. Since the SSR has no moving parts, it tends to outlast the standard mechanical relay by a wide margin.
