Most kilns are built around width. The Jen-Ken AF 2431 Mega Coil is built around height. At 31" deep, this kiln can fire pieces that simply won't fit in standard studio kilns. Tall vases, totem sculptures, large floor vessels, multi part figurative work, you name it. Same Mega Coil technology that makes the Jen-Ken Mega Coil series last 10 to 15 years longer than similar size kilns on the market. Six oversized super heavy gauge Mega Coils, one per full brick, with more element material than standard coils so they take longer to wear out. When the day comes that you do need a swap, the color coded wiring uncouples in seconds and you can change a coil yourself in about 10 minutes.
Inside, you've got a 24" wide by 31" deep chamber with 8.11 cubic feet of capacity. The 3" firebrick walls hold heat well, keep firings efficient, and let the elements work less than they otherwise would. The kind of construction that adds up to years of extra service.
The AF 2431 fires up to 2300°F (Cone 8), perfect for earthenware, low to mid fire stoneware, glaze work, and bisque firings. Runs on a standard 240V at 45 amps with a NEMA 6-50 plug, 10,800 watts.

The AF 2431 ships with the wall hanging digital Orton AutoFire 12 Key standard. This controller mounts on the wall away from the kiln heat, keeping its components cool and extending its life. It comes loaded with full cone fire schedules in slow, medium, and fast, plus 9 user programs for custom firings, and a 60 amp mercury relay built in. It also tracks the cost of each firing, the time it took, and the temperature you achieved, useful data if you're watching margins.
