The Jen-Ken AFG JK Squared 15" is built for one specific thing most glass fusing kilns can't handle: deep slumping. The interior is 27" wide by 27" long by 15" deep, with enough vertical room to slump a 13" deep bowl or a 13" flower former mold in the same kiln you fuse flat work in. If you've been wanting to make larger bowls, deeper drape pieces, or sculptural forms but your current kiln didn't have the height, this is the kiln that finally lets you do it.
What makes this kiln especially versatile is that it's top and side firing. The top elements give your glass the radiant heat that fusing and slumping need from above, while the side elements help bring the kiln to temperature evenly and support deeper draping work. Most glass kilns commit to one or the other. This one does both.
With 6 cubic feet of capacity, the JK Squared 15" is a serious working size for glass artists. Big enough for full sized platters, deep bowls, sculptural pieces, and large fused work. Runs on standard 240V at 45 amps with a NEMA 6-50 plug, 10,800 watts. Fires up to 1700°F, plenty of headroom for full fuse, tack fuse, slumping, draping, and casting.
