The AFG Oval 13 is a serious workhorse. With 24" x 39" x 13" of interior space and 7.2 cubic feet of capacity, you can fuse two large pieces side by side, slump a small sink, or load up a full classroom's worth of student work and fire it all in one go. The oval shape gives you a long, generous footprint without wasting the corners you'd never use in a square kiln.
This is a full brick kiln, which matters more than people sometimes realize. Brick holds heat. Brick cools slowly. And brick gives you the kind of long, even thermal mass that takes the stress out of annealing. With a brick chamber this size, you really don't have to fight the kiln to get your work to anneal properly. It just does.
The Oval 13 maxes out at 1700°F, plenty for full fuse, tack fuse, slumping, and draping. It ships standard with the Orton AutoFire 12-Key controller, a reliable P-I-D controller that supports up to 4 custom programs and holds its memory through power loss so a firing can resume right where it left off.
