Built for Bladesmiths Who Want Heat Treat Under Their Own Roof
The Hot Shot 1200K was designed with input from blacksmiths and knife makers to give you everything the standard 1200 has, plus a chamber optimized for longer blades. At 12"D × 10"W × 10"H on 240V, it handles full-size knives and longer stock without forcing you to angle your blades.
Every Hot Shot oven is built in West Bend, Wisconsin and ships with the brand's patent-pending Cool-to-Touch Technology — the exterior stays safe to handle even at full temperature, thanks to a fan-cooled stainless steel core inside a powder-coated shell. Kanthal A1 heating elements, a Type K thermocouple, and a solid-state relay come standard.
Included with every order

You'll pick your digital controller at checkout:
- TAP&Go — the simplest option. Tap your desired temperature on the controller and it manages the firing automatically. Set-point only, not ramp/hold programmable.
- TAP2 — full-color touchscreen with unlimited program storage, built-in Wi-Fi, and a free mobile app for monitoring and notifications.
- Bartlett Genesis Spark — touchscreen with industry presets, 30 custom programs, Wi-Fi for software updates and remote monitoring via the Bartlett Kiln Aid app.
✅ Best for: Serious knife makers and bladesmiths processing medium to large batches of full-size blades. The deeper chamber makes it the right upgrade from the 18K or 360K when blade length becomes a constraint. Ideal for carbon and tool steels at cone-equivalent temperatures.
❌ Not ideal for: Hobbyists making occasional small knives — the Hot Shot 18K or 360K is more cost-effective at lower volume. Not recommended for stainless steels requiring austenitizing above 1900°F without the argon gas kit upgrade.
