In-House Heat Treating, Without the Outsourcing Hassle
If you've been outsourcing heat treat — dealing with minimum batch sizes, shipping turnaround, and zero control over timing — the Hot Shot 360 puts that process back under your roof. At 360 cubic inches and running on 120V / 15A, it's the most accessible heat treating oven we carry — no electrician required, just plug into a standard outlet and start firing.
Every Hot Shot oven is built in West Bend, Wisconsin and ships with the brand's patent-pending Cool-to-Touch Technology — the exterior stays safe to handle even at full temperature, thanks to a fan-cooled stainless steel core inside a powder-coated shell. Kanthal A1 heating elements, a Type K thermocouple, and a solid-state relay come standard.
Included with every order
Full operator manual, a 3 year limited warranty through Hot Shot, and free freight shipping to the US Lower 48.
You'll pick your digital controller at checkout:
- TAP&Go — the simplest option. Tap your desired temperature on the controller and it manages the firing automatically. Set-point only, not ramp/hold programmable.
- TAP2 — full-color touchscreen with unlimited program storage, built-in Wi-Fi, and a free mobile app for monitoring and notifications.
- Bartlett Genesis Spark — touchscreen with industry presets, 30 custom programs, Wi-Fi for software updates and remote monitoring via the Bartlett Kiln Aid app.
✅ Best for: Home bladesmiths and hobbyist knife makers who want to heat treat their own blades without rewiring their shop. Perfect for shorter blades up to about 8–10 inches. The 120V plug-in setup makes this the easiest entry point into in-house heat treating.
❌ Not ideal for: Production shops processing large batches or long blades — step up to the Hot Shot 1200 or 24K for that volume. Also not suited for stainless steels that require higher temperatures above 2000°F.
