Cone 10 Capability with Ergonomic Bottom Loading
Model – TopHat 2314E 240 or 208 volt. Inside dimensions: 23 3/8" wide x 13.5″ deep, fires to cone 10/2350°F, built with 3" brick and lid element for even top-to-bottom heat. The lift-off bell design means you load from the bottom — no bending over a top-loader, no wrestling with a heavy front door.
✅ Best for: Potters and ceramic artists who want cone 10 capability with an ergonomic loading experience. The bell design is especially popular with sculptors and anyone loading tall or awkward pieces. Also works well for glass fusing and heat treating, making it a genuinely versatile kiln if you work across multiple media. Schools and studios that want one kiln to do it all often land here.
❌ Not ideal for: Pure hobbyists firing only small pieces — the Olympic HotBox or 129E is more cost-effective at that scale. If you need more depth than 13.5", look at the TopHat 2827E instead.
Key Features
TopHat Bell Design — Lift-off bell raises for bottom loading — ideal for tall sculptural work and awkward pieces without bending over a lid
The Mid-Size TopHat — 23⅜″ × 13.5″ chamber — between the compact 189E and the larger 2814E
3″ Firebrick Walls — Cone 10 / 2350°F (1288°C) for high-fire ceramics and glass fusing
Lid Element Included — Top element in the bell lid delivers even top-to-bottom heat, essential for glass fusing and slumping
Genuinely Multi-Media — Equally capable across ceramics, glass fusing, and heat treating
240V or 208V Single Phase — Standard household-adjacent power, no special service required
Welded Frame & Stainless Steel Jacket — Sturdy industrial construction for long-term studio use
TopHat/Raku Furniture Kits Available — 2–3 layers of shelving and posts designed for this model
Built in the USA — Olympic Kilns, Flowery Branch, Georgia
