China painting fires at relatively low temperatures with slow, controlled cycles, often over several firings as you build layers of overglaze, luster, and gold. A smaller kiln with a programmable controller is ideal — you get the gentle ramps and soaks the work needs without heating a large chamber for small pieces. What cone do I need for porcelain?

Can I china paint in a regular pottery kiln?
