Large 28″ Stackable Electric Kiln — 10 cu ft, Cone 8
The Olympic 2827E is a full 10 cubic foot production kiln — 28¼″ wide and 27″ deep. This is studio-scale capacity: a school's weekly bisque, a production potter's glaze cycle, or large sculptural work that needs both width and height at once.
Unlike the 23″ cone 8 models, every 28″-wide Olympic is built with 3″ firebrick regardless of cone rating. So the 2827E gives you the same heavy insulation and energy efficiency as the high-fire 2827HE — you're only trading the cone 10 element package, and you gain Olympic's longer 2-year warranty in exchange.
If your work lives at cone 5–6 like most studio stoneware and commercial glazes, that's a meaningful saving on a kiln this size with no practical loss.
A lid lift assist comes standard, and the sectional body separates into rings so a 10 cubic foot kiln can still be moved a section at a time. Note that on 208V single phase this kiln is direct-wired rather than plugged; 240V single phase uses a NEMA 6-50.
Included with every order
Bartlett KilnStar digital controller, lid lift assist, pilot light, 8″ metal stand, stainless steel jacket, observation plugs with peephole plugs, full instruction manual, and a 2-year limited kiln warranty through Olympic.
Popular options include the Genesis touchscreen controller (delay start, preheat, cone offset, skip step), 2- or 3-zone control, automatic lid shut-off, castors, a Type S thermocouple, dual media, and 480V or 3-phase wiring. Give us a call and we'll help you spec it.
