The Paragon CT81713 Janus Ceramic and Glass Kiln delivers dual-mode firing precision, compact efficiency, and reliable cone-10 performance in a versatile kiln designed for artists working in both ceramics and glass. With a 16.5" interior diameter and 13.25" depth (1.75 cu ft), it offers an ideal balance of capacity and footprint — perfect for porcelain, china painting, decals, and small-scale glass fusing. Built on Paragon's proven Ceramic Top platform, this model combines durability and performance with the flexibility of Janus dual-mode firing, allowing studios to expand capabilities without adding equipment.
The Janus dual-mode system uses dedicated top and sidewall elements, controlled by a simple toggle switch. Glass mode activates the top and mid-side elements for controlled radiant heat — ideal for fusing and slumping — while pottery mode uses sidewall elements only for even heat distribution during bisque and glaze firings. This flexibility makes the CT81713 Janus an excellent choice for multi-disciplinary artists or studios looking to maximize output from a single kiln.
