Making tests of your materials and recipes is critical in the studio, that’s why Scott Creek Pottery designed this Test Tile die for 5″ models with a double knockout. Now you can produce big runs of test tiles in just a couple of extrusions!
We make our Test Tile Dies for 4″ models from laser cut 1/8″ stainless steel for durability. Our test tile dies will work well with all types of clay, even porcelain. Tile extrusion profile is 3.5″ tall and just over 1.5″ wide at the base.
This is the same die design that we’ve been using for glaze testing for years. When paired with a 5″ extruder this die will produce two long extrusions that you can then slice into the width you desire for your testing (we usually cut ours approx 1.25″ wide).
