A 120V Plug-In Kiln With the Build Quality of a Full Size Studio Kiln
The Jen-Ken AF3P 15/6 is built different. Most 120V tabletop kilns are stripped down hobby kilns. This one is the opposite: a compact 15" x 6" chamber with 0.66 cubic feet of capacity, but built with the kind of features you usually only find on full size 240V studio kilns.
You get 2300°F firebrick (higher rated than what most tabletop kilns use), large handles for moving, a 2 position lid prop for venting at high temperatures, and a lid coating for durability. These aren't tabletop kiln features. These are full size kiln features in a package that plugs into a regular wall outlet.
The 15" round chamber fits a 13" round shelf for fused and slumped work. The 6" depth gives you working room for slumping into shallow molds, fusing platters, and serious tabletop projects. Fires up to 1700°F, which covers full fuse, tack fuse, slumping, and draping. Plugs into a standard 120V wall outlet (NEMA 5-15) at 1,800 watts, 15 amps. No electrician, no panel work.
Note: this is the small kiln with the build of a much bigger one. If you've owned a flimsy tabletop kiln before and want something that feels solid, this is built for you.
Included with every order
The AF3P digital controller, base brick (or optional stand), full operator manual, 2 year limited warranty through Jen-Ken, and free shipping to the US Lower 48.
Who Is This Kiln For?
The AF3P 15/6 is built for a specific kind of glass artist. Here's how to tell if that's you.
✓ Glass artists who want a small kiln that doesn't feel cheap
2300°F firebrick, large handles, lid coating, and a 2 position lid prop are full size kiln features. If you've been disappointed by flimsy tabletop kilns before, this is built different.
✓ Home studios making round fused work
15" round chamber fits a 13" shelf, perfect for round platters, plates, decorative pieces, and slumped bowls.
✓ Apartment dwellers and small space studios
120V plug, 60 lb tabletop design, no rewiring needed. Real fusing studio capability in spaces that can't fit a full size kiln.
✓ Glass artists who appreciate proper venting
The 2 position lid prop lets you vent the kiln at high temperatures during fast cooling and the front end of firings. Useful feature most tabletop kilns don't offer.
The AF3P 15/6 ships with the Orton AutoFire 3 Key controller, which handles common glass schedules well. For more flexibility, upgrade at checkout to the TAP Smart Controller with Wi Fi for unlimited program storage and remote control from your phone or tablet.
