The Jen-Ken AF 2422 Mega Coil gives you all the same coil technology that makes Jen-Ken Mega Coil kilns last 10 to 15 years longer than similarly sized kilns on the market, but in a more compact 24" x 22" chamber with 5.76 cubic feet of capacity. Sized right for working potters, home studios, and small classroom programs.
The key feature is what's inside. Jen-Ken took their proven 3" brick kiln and dropped in oversized, super heavy gauge Mega Coils, one per brick. More element material means more life. When the day finally comes that you need to swap a coil, the color coded wiring uncouples in seconds and you can do the whole change yourself in about 10 minutes. No waiting weeks for a repair tech.
The other big advantage of this size: it only pulls 36 amps on a standard 240V circuit. That's friendlier on home and small studio electrical than the 42 to 45 amps the bigger Mega Coils need. Less likely to need a panel upgrade, easier on your bill, and still gives you all the production capability.
Wrapped in 3" firebrick for strong heat retention and efficient firings, the AF 2422 fires up to 2300°F (Cone 8), perfect for earthenware, low to mid fire stoneware, glaze work, and your everyday bisque firings. Plugs into a standard NEMA 6-50 240V outlet, so installation is straightforward.
