Compact Tabletop Glass Kiln Deep Enough for Pot Melts, Pattern Bars, and Drop-Outs
Most tabletop glass kilns are too shallow for the more interesting warm glass techniques. The Jen-Ken AF3P 11/6 changes that. The interior is 11" wide by 6" deep with 0.4 cubic feet of capacity. That extra depth, more than what a standard bead annealer or 4.5" tabletop kiln offers, opens up real working room for pot melts, pattern bars, and decent sized drop-outs. You can fit a 10" plate mold or an 8" square mold, plenty of room for serious fused work at home.
It plugs into a standard 120V 20 amp wall outlet (NEMA 5-15) so there's no electrician, no special install, no panel upgrade. Fires up to 1700°F, which is exactly what you need for full fuse, tack fuse, slumping, draping, pot melts, and pattern bars. At only 50 pounds, it sits on a sturdy bench or table comfortably and moves easily.
Note: this kiln is side firing only. The elements are on the chamber walls for the controlled glass firing temperatures this kiln is built for.
Pre-programmed controller with 20+ firing schedules
The AF3P 11/6 ships with Jen-Ken's exclusive pre-programmed Orton digital controller. It comes loaded with over 20 different firing schedules for common glass techniques, plus blank slots where you can save your own custom programs. Every program is editable, so you can start with proven schedules and fine tune them as you learn what works for your studio. A huge benefit for beginners who don't want to spend the first month figuring out firing schedules.
Included with every order
Shelf and posts, kiln wash, the pre-programmed AF3P digital controller, base brick (or optional stand), the full operator manual, 2 year limited warranty through Jen-Ken, and free shipping to the US Lower 48. Everything you need to start firing.
Who Is This Kiln For?
The AF3P 11/6 is built for a specific kind of glass artist. Here's how to tell if that's you.
✓ Glass artists doing pot melts and pattern bars
The 6" depth gives you real working room for these techniques without needing a full size kiln. Smallest plug in tabletop kiln that genuinely handles pot melts.
✓ Hobbyists making 10" plates and 8" platters
Fits a 10" plate mold or 8" square mold. Real sized fused work without dedicating a whole studio to it.
✓ Beginners who want a head start on firing schedules
20+ pre-loaded programs mean you can start firing right away instead of learning schedules from scratch. Beginner friendly without being limiting.
✓ Apartment dwellers and small space studios
Sits on a tabletop, plugs into a standard 120V outlet, weighs 50 lbs. Real glass studio capability in spaces that can't accommodate a full size kiln.
The pre-programmed AF3P controller is the heart of this kiln's beginner appeal, but you have options. If you want more flexibility, upgrade at checkout to the AutoFire 12 Key, the touchscreen AutoFire Slide, or the TAP Smart Controller with Wi Fi. For most home studios though, the pre-programmed controller is exactly what you need to start making good work right away.
